Sr Commercial Credit Analyst – South of Boston & Worcester County

Job Description

Prepare analytical documents used to determine the credit worthiness of new, renewal and existing commercial loan customers via the analysis of financial statements, credit bureau reports and existing credit file information. Through this analysis, the Analyst evaluates the financial condition of individuals and businesses requesting credit and ensures the completeness of credit file documentation.

Primary responsibilities

  • Determine the credit worthiness and prepares written analysis of new, renewal and existing commercial loan customers via the analysis of financial statements including: accounts receivable, accounts payable, balance sheets, income statements and forecasting projections, as well as credit bureau reports and existing credit file information
  • Conducts appropriate and thorough industry research and background documentation to support credit analysis preparation
  • Reviews existing loan relationships for credit quality, documentation adequacy and proper credit file administration
  • Orders, tracks and reviews residential/commercial real estate appraisals and environmental reports
  • May accompany lending officers on outside customer calls and site visitations from time to time
  • Assist in management of commercial loan credit files to ensure up to date financial information
  • Assist CLO’s with functions related to commercial loan portfolio

Qualifications

Bachelors or Associate’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting or, equivalent relevant work experience required.

3-5 years of commercial credit experience. Formal Bank Credit Training preferred! Strong knowledge of accounting, financial analysis and, standard commercial loan documentation.  Ability to read and interpret financial statements, ratios and credit reports.

Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Organizational, time management and analytical skills to determine relevant risk is required. Be self-motivated and thorough in execution to achieve desired results within established timeframes with moderate supervision.
